How to: Get Gorgeous Bouncy Waves

HEAT-FREE and overnight! :)

  1. The night before you want wavy hair dampen dry hair (wet your hands and run them through your hair) and brush out any tangles.
  2. Separate your hair into two, or more if yu have thick hair.
  3. Separate one of those parts into two again, then twist one part and hold it in your mouth while you twist the other. Then twist the two bits of hair around each other in a rope braid and secure with a hair tye. Repeat with your other sections.
  4. Sleepy-Byes, Sweet dreams!
  5. In the morning take out the hair tyes. You should get spirally curls. You can keep them like that but personally I don't like that style. To get waves brush through your hair gently, you don't want it going frizzy - I like to use Bedhead Smoothing Cream in this step, or you can use a de-frizz serum, this is optional.
  6. Hairspray et voila!

How to: Get a new skirt, from an old shirt!

Here's how to wear a shirt as a skirt! Oversized/your dad's will probably work best!
  1. Wrap the shirt around your hips and button up the buttons from the bottom 'til about halfway.
  2. Pull the shirt up (mine is usually to my ribs) 'til the skirt is the length you want it then button up as many buttons as you can, you probably won't button all of them up but that doesn't matter.
  3. Take the shirt sleeve cuffs, one in each hand, and tie it around your waist as many times as you want so the skirt will stay up.
I usually wear this with tights made into long socks (to learn how to make them check this out: http://crazyandslightlyobsessed.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-recycle-old-tightscreate-long.html) and a hoodie! A very versatile look, wear with heels and accessories for a dressed-up look or flats for a casual look!

How to: Recycle old tights/Create long socks from tights!

So, you've got some tights but they've got a huge noticeable hole(s) in them, what do you do? Make socks outa them :) you can do this without holes in your tights first but it's kinda a waste of a pair of tights! :D
So, here's what you gotta do:
  1. Grab a pair of scissors and wear your tights (you can take them off but I find it easier to know how long my socks will be if I'm wearing my tights).
  2. Wherever the hole(s) is just start cutting across, I usually do this just above my knee. If you have no holes just cut into the tights. Try and make it straight-ish but it doesn't matter if it's a bit rough, that won't be showing.
  3. If you want paint clear nail varnish across the top of the cut socks/tights to keep them from ladder-ing (that's not a word is it?) and then roll the tops down just a little I usually roll them down to just below my knees.
  4. Et voila! :D

The Many Ways to Wear Your Dad's Shirt :)

I stole my dad's shirt a while ago and am loving wearing it as many ways as I can!

  1. Wear it as a dress - wear black leggings and a vest top/strappy top Put on the oversized shirt and button it up, leaving the top few undone so you can see just the top of your vest top. Roll the sleeves up to your elbows and put a waist belt around your waist - or you could buckle a normal belt around your hips. I like wearing this with converse!
  2. Wear a top and jeans and put the shirt on - unbuttoned completely - to just drape by your sides. Roll the sleeves up to your elbows.
  3. Repeat as above, but hold the ends of both sides of the shirt and tie it in a knot at your front. It should be tied like in this image:
  4. Just wear it buttoned up and loose over some trousers or something :)
